UEFA Champions League returns to Aljada’s drive-in cinema as fans gear up for climax of world’s top club competition

News: 12 August 2020

Every quarter final and semi-final to be screened at Sharjah attraction at 11pm, on top of movies every night at 8pm

Following capacity crowds at Sharjah’s drive-in cinema for the last two Round of 16 matches, UEFA Champions League football returns to Movie Nights at Aljada over the next 10 days.

Last week, fans celebrated by flashing headlights and honking car horns as they watched Manchester City knock out Real Madrid and Barcelona dismantle Napoli, with both teams qualifying for the quarter-final stages at European football’s showpiece tournament.

The coming days will see Movie Nights at Aljada screening all four quarter finals and both semi finals as this year’s Champions League reaches its climax. The programme kicks off on the evening of Wednesday 12 August, when Italy’s Atalanta take on Paris St-Germain with a place in the last four of the competition at stake.

As well as the football, Movie Nights at Aljada will also be offering the usual mix of family-friendly blockbuster films. Highlights for the week ahead include Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, kids cartoon Minions and the classic romantic comedy Breakfast at Tiffany’s.

All movies at the drive-in cinema at Madar at Aljada, Muwaileh, Sharjah, start at 8pm and screenings of all Champions League matches will start at 11pm. Both are free to enter on a first-come, first-served basis.

Cinemagoers can also select from the 17 different types of delicious cuisine at Zad either by visiting the drive-thru prior to entering the cinema, or by ordering via the dedicated website and the meals will be delivered directly to their cars in a safe and contactless manner.

The full schedule of movies and timings and further details about the cinema can be found both on the dedicated Movie Nights at Aljada website and the Aljada website, as well as Aljada’s Facebook and Instagram social media channels.
