Top places in Sharjah to work remotely
22 August 2021
Plenty of Sharjah residents are still working remotely, and it’s likely that more and more companies will implement new policies with regard to working from home in the near future. In the meantime, for when you just have to get out of the house, Sharjah is full of locations that provide great coffee as well as place to set up your laptop for a few hours
Origins Koffee Lab & Kitchen
This newly opened café not only offers a great range of artisanal coffees (as its name implies) but it also boasts a fine view of Nasma Central Park, with its extensive greenery and manmade hill. Choose from a decent selection of meals and enjoy the laid-back atmosphere. The best spot for remote working? Head upstairs to find the most peaceful spot in the house. click here to find out more
Fen Café Heart of Sharjah
Located inside the Heart of Sharjah complex being developed by Shurooq, the first edition of the Fen Café has been a big hit with residents and tourists alike. A solid menu of healthy options is available, together with the usual teas and coffees. And when you need a break from work, you can always take a stroll around the area for inspiration, taking in a local museum or open-air art installation.click here to find out more
Al Rawi
Sharjah doesn’t have a central business district as such, but most of the Emirate’s largest and most well-known companies tend to base themselves on or around the Buhairah Corniche. This makes Al Rawi a great spot to work from as its location in Al Majaz Waterfront means you can easily get to any emergency meetings. A bookshop connected to the café can provide you with any stationery that you need, while workshops on a whole range of topics can help you hone those all-important skills.click here to find out more
Jones The Grocer
Jones The Grocer’s first Sharjah branch on Flag Island has possibly the best view of any café inside the city. As well as the tasty menu and the excellent service, there is plenty of space both inside and outside the café for remote working.click here to find out more
Ratios Coffee
Another spot with a great view, Ratios Coffee is the best of a small group of cafes in the historic Souq Al Shanasiya. Again, there’s plenty of room both inside and outside the café, and – as its name suggests – coffee is its forte.click here to find out more
Hoof Cafe
Located in the Muwaileh area, Hoof is a tiny speciality coffee shop that has been inspired by all things equine. The location is not huge, but there’s just enough room for you to set up your laptop and start working. But the reason you’ll really want to come back to Hoof again and again is its great selection of food and coffees, not to mention the friendly vibe from the three local owners.click here to find out more
Mleiha Archaelogical Centre
Hidden inside the Mleiha Archaeological Centre is our vote for the most atmospheric café in the UAE. With both inside and outside seating, the café has a great view over nearby Jebel Al Faya and if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to spot a gazelle or two when you glance up from your work. The menu is small but accomplished, and the coffee is second to none (and available to purchase to take home with you).click here to find out more
Fen Café Kalba
The second branch of the hugely popular Fen Café brand on this list (there is actually a third in Zero 6 mall close to University City), the Kalba version is pretty easy to miss, given that most of what surrounds it is currently a construction site due to the revamping of the Kalba Corniche. But it’s a jewel nonetheless – great, simple food, a fantastic view over the mangroves and, most importantly of all, plenty of peace and quiet to help you concentrate.click here to find out more
